                                      MEETING MINUTES  September 27, 2006

Call to order 11:00a by Terry Mitchell

Attendance: Sylvia Fosha ,Terry Mitchell, Naiela Long, Queen Tucker, Christopher Moores, Dean Sparks, Stan Wylie, Michael Lynch, Sharon Goff, Gayleen Jennings, Malachy Sreenan

  1. Terry scheduled volunteers to serve at the Union Gospel Mission for Wed Nov 15 from 4p-6p. So far nine people have signed up.  More info to follow.
     

  2. Terry & Malachy encouraged a need for volunteers to sign up for the Labor to Neighbor program.  Door-to-door walk shifts and phone bank shift schedules to follow from Terry.  All of our help is needed to make this year’s Labor Neighbor efforts successful.
     

  3. Per Terry more to follow regarding the United Way campaign.
     

  4.  Naiela spoke about the Economics class she took at the Leadership Conference held in Iowa (in the middle of the corn field). I found her discussion very interesting.
     

  5. Malachy presented everyone with an appreciation certificate.  Sylvia & Malachy thanked everyone for their hard work and for contributing their time & efforts towards the Community Service Committee.
     

  6. Thanks for lunch!  Deli sandwiches, potato salad, brownies & cookies were delicious.

NEW BUSINESS—

All projects are still up for discussion and changes.

Thanks everyone who attended and hope to see ALL members at the next meeting.  I am happy to be a part of this team.  Thanks for welcoming me.
