CWA stands for the Communications Workers of America, a growing union with around 650,000 members nationally and over 3500 members here at Local 7800.

Most people know CWA as a telecommunications union because it represents employees at Qwest Communications, GTE, AT&T, Lucent, and other big telecom companies.  But CWA also represents many other workers, especially communications workers, technicians, and college and university employees.  CWA also represents customer service professionals, telemarketers, cable TV technicians, and lots of others.

CWA is known for its member and community-based organizing program; one of the most successful in the country.
