The Communications Workers of America (CWA), represents over 700,000 men and women in both private and public sectors.
CWA members are employed in telecommunications, broadcasting, cable TV, journalism, publishing, electronics and general manufacturing, as well as airline customer service, government service, health care, education and other fields. We represent technicians, drivers, dispatchers and many other positions in all these industries.

SUBJECT:      Ratification Vote

We are pleased to announce that the new Collective Bargaining Agreement between CWA & CenturyLink

has been ratified by a vote of 64% in favor and 36% opposed.

 

New contracts will be printed in the future.

We have a lot going on right now and I want to thank all the stewards and officers for their hard work. We a few more people interested in being Stewards,  so I am trying to plan another steward class before the end of the year. I am hoping to have a reversing runaway inequality class soon as well. The local just had its financial audit and we are doing pretty good.

 

AT&T> The company has hired 4 new people, and everything seems to be going well. We are hoping to have printed copies of the new contract soon.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved the awarding of sixteen (16) partial college scholarships of $4,000 each for two years. Eligible for the scholarships are CWA members, their spouses, children, and grandchildren, including the dependents of retired, laid-off, or deceased members. Applications will be available solely online for submission on the Foundation’s website at http://cwa-union.org/beirne-application.
